Cardiac Autonomic Modulation in children and Preadolescents obese

چکیده
To understand this problem, irstly we need to know that the sinoatrial node, responsible for generating electrical impulses that will turn into myocardial contraction is in luenced by the autonomic nervous system. The sympathetic nerves of the autonomic nervous system increase the blood pressure and heart rate (HR) and the parasympathetic nerves reduce the blood pressure and HR. So, the heart beats are adjusted, each moment, to the metabolic necessities. However, when dysautonomia exists, the HR and blood pressure can be altered and these alterations can be detected in the resting condition or during cardiac autonomic functional tests.

Cardiac Autonomic Adjustments During Baroreflex Test in Obese and Non-Obese Preadolescents
BACKGROUND Recent studies have shown changes in cardiac autonomic control of obese preadolescents. OBJECTIVE To assess the heart rate responses and cardiac autonomic modulation of obese preadolescents during constant expiratory effort. METHODS This study assessed 10 obese and 10 non-obese preadolescents aged 9 to 12 years. The body mass index of the obese group was between the 95th and 97th...

متن کاملAnalysis of cardiac autonomic modulation in obese and eutrophic children
INTRODUCTION Obesity causes alterations in cardiac autonomic function. However, there are scarce and conflicting data on this function with regard to heart rate variability in obese children. OBJECTIVE To compare the autonomic function of obese and eutrophic children by analyzing heart rate variability. METHODS One hundred twenty-one children (57 male and 64 female) aged 8 to 12 years were ...
متن کاملGeometric indexes of heart rate variability in obese and eutrophic children.
BACKGROUND Obesity causes changes in cardiac autonomic modulation. OBJECTIVE To investigate the autonomic modulation of eutrophic and obese children by means of indexes of heart rate variability (HRV) obtained through geometric methods. METHODS We analyzed data from 133 children aged 8 to 13, divided into two groups: obese (n = 61) and eutrophic (n = 72) according to body mass index for age...

BACKGROUND Obesity can affect the cardiac autonomic modulation, blood lipid levels and the physical capacity. OBJECTIVE To study the effect of obesity on the heart rate variability (HRV), blood lipid levels and physical capacity of obese children. METHODS Thirty children aged 9 to 11 years were studied, divided in two groups: a) 15 obese children (O) aged 10.2 +/- 0.7 years and body mass in...
